About Klondike Solitaire
Klondike Solitaire is the card game most people simply call solitaire: sort a shuffled deck onto four foundations, suit by suit from Ace to King, using seven tableau columns and a stock of spare cards. Each deal is a fresh little logic problem, which is exactly why the game has stayed popular for more than a century.
Puzlento's version runs free in your browser with no download or sign-up. Switch between draw-1 and draw-3 at any time, cycle through the stock as often as you like, and lean on unlimited undo while you learn. A timer and move counter track your progress, smart taps speed up play, and your best time is saved right on your device.
How to play Klondike Solitaire
- Move all 52 cards to the four foundations, building each suit up from Ace to King.
- On the tableau, stack cards in descending order with alternating colors — a red 9 goes on a black 10.
- Flip face-down cards by clearing everything on top of them; only a King (or a run led by one) may fill an empty column.
- Out of moves? Draw from the stock — pick draw-1 or draw-3 with the toolbar toggle, and recycle the stock as many times as you need.
- Use undo freely to rewind mistakes; it is unlimited.
- Once every card is face up, auto-finish sweeps the rest to the foundations and stops the clock.
Controls
- Drag and drop cards with your mouse or finger to move them between piles.
- Tap or click a card to send it automatically to the best available spot.
- Double-tap (or double-click) a card to send it straight to its foundation.
- Use the toolbar for New game, Undo, and the draw-1/draw-3 toggle.
Tips & tricks
- Chase face-down cards first — a move that reveals a hidden card almost always beats one that does not.
- Keep foundations roughly even; racing one suit ahead can strand the low cards you need as tableau landing spots.
- Empty columns are gold: save them for a King with a useful run behind it, ideally one that unburies more cards.
- In draw-3, count in threes — playing or holding one waste card changes which cards you can reach on the next pass.
Frequently asked questions
Is every Klondike Solitaire game winnable?
No. Roughly four in five deals are theoretically winnable, and the rest are lost from the start. Unlimited undo and endless stock recycles in our version let you win far more often than the averages suggest.
What is the difference between draw 1 and draw 3?
Draw-1 turns over one stock card at a time and is much easier. Draw-3 flips three at once, so only every third card is immediately reachable. You can switch modes from the toolbar whenever you like.
Does this solitaire work on phones?
Yes. It runs in any modern mobile browser — drag cards with a finger, tap to auto-move, or double-tap to send a card to its foundation. Your best time is saved on your device.
